ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS/NOTES

Gloves – Gloves provide a false sense of security and are therefore not recommended as a part of general protocols. If someone wears gloves, touches an unclean surface, then touches their face or another surface, they will increase the risk of transmission. What is important is frequent hand washing and/or use of hand sanitiser to ensure hands are clean as the HSE clearly state PPE is not necessary unless in a medical setting and the main defence is hand washing and social distancing
Note: Clearly, there are protocols that require gloves (i.e. for food handling, cleaning functions with chemicals and in first aid operations) and those should be strictly followed.
